The University of Pennsylvania apologized to female athletes for allowing swimmer Lia Thomas – a man who identifies as a woman – to swim with girls and break records.

This surely is a hollow apology.

It came only after the Trump administration got involved. Meaning, federal money was at stake.

So, UPenn wrote some crap, changed a few things, and now gets their money.

Everybody is “happy” and can move on… except the girls who had to swim against Thomas, who had to lose to Thomas, and had to share a locker room with Thomas.

Money flow had to be interrupted before change happened. This is sad.

Transgenderism is a real mental disorder and affects very few people.

But Trans Fatigue is real, too.

Why should entire institutions and communities change everything to accommodate a handful of opportunistic mentally unstable people?

We shouldn’t.

African American workforce participation has historically been below the Total percent. Participation climbed steeply after the start of DEI programs. Are we seeing a return to historic norms now that DEI isn’t forced on the market?

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) defines the Civilian Labor Force Participation Rate (LFPR) as the percentage of the civilian noninstitutional population aged 16 and older that is either employed or actively seeking employment.

Stay with me here…

The “noninstitutional” population excludes students, people in prison, nursing homes, active-duty personnel, and people who have given-up looking for work.

For whatever reasons, “Black or African American” participation has been below the Total Average and White, Asian, and Hispanic rates.

Then Joe Biden and DEI hit the scene.

Black participation climbed steeply and stayed historically high - beating White participation for the first time in the last 20 years of the chart.

As Biden’s term ended and DEI initiatives fell out of favor with employees, shareholders, and most boardrooms, the Black participation started dropping.

Black workforce participation is again below the total average participation rate, where it has been for the past 20 years.

Some might argue that participation increased because DEI programs removed a perceived systemic racism that historically kept Black participation lower than the average.

But notice how Black LFPR closed the gap organically during Trump’s first administration. That is what happens when you allow the free market and individuals to make decisions without Big Brother overwatch or threats from the Left.

Recently, the various weather services issued warnings about unprecedented heat expected in Central Texas in the coming week.

“105 degrees” - “Never been this hot this early” - “Nothing like it before”

Local weather forecasters and the National Weather Service (NWS) issued heat advisories warning that it would be unsafe to hike, bike, or run. (I’m unsure what temperature would be safe to hike in, but not bike in.)

The high temperature for that predicted doom-week was actually 98 degrees, not 105 degrees. Nothing abnormal for mid-May in Texas.

Since humans are wired to notice warnings and remember bad news, if you ask somebody this week, they’ll tell you that last week was, “105. The hottest we’ve seen.” That’s because our built-in primacy bias makes us remember the 105-degree warning that we saw first, not the actual temperature.

The weather service gathers data from weather monitoring stations across the country. A large percentage of these stations are broken, old, uncalibrated, located erroneously, or just plain missing.

One big problem with many of the stations is that they are placed on or near concrete and asphalt surfaces in direct sunlight - totally against NWS/NOAA guidelines.

These gauges will read hotter than ambient, and for longer. Despite plenty of people bringing these misplaced stations to NWS’s attention, our government still publishes the exaggerated readings.

Many stations are broken or non-existent. The NWS admits that they often simply average other stations’ numbers or just fabricate a number as the analyst sees fit for any station that is missing or broken.

What better way to further the climate hysteria agenda than to just fabricate the numbers that you need to see?

An old media maxim - “if it bleeds, it leads” - also applies to weather agencies. They must be alarmist to stay relevant and keep eyeballs on screens.

I enjoy listening to Kamala Harris. Her struggle to sound intelligent genuinely entertains me.

It simultaneously annoys me. But more seriously, Kamala’s deficiency concerns me.

“Entertaining” is not one of the pre-requisites to run the United States.

Joy is not a qualification.

Hope is not a plan.

Cackle uncomfortably to deflect a question is not a positive trait.

Kamala’s inability to form a cogent statement is a national embarrassment. She is incapable of forming answers to simple questions, of forming a cohesive thought

I’ve met Walmart door greeters with better communication skills than Kamala.

Our President’s qualities should include: leadership, communication, collaboration, and strategic vision.

Kamala has none of these traits.

She claims that Donald Trump is a threat to democracy. What she really means is that Trump is a threat to the Democratic Party, the DNC, and the power brokers behind the Obama-Biden-Harris machine

Federal bureaucrats do everything in their power to increase their budgets and their administrative powers. Such is the nature of all bureaucracies, but especially of our over-fed federal government.

We did not vote for these career money-wasting bureaucrats. For innumerable reasons, once an Administration is founded, it’s seemingly impossible for our elected officials to dislodge.

Add entitlements to their budgets and an immovable object is formed.

Once embedded, these multitude agencies justify their existence by expanding their reach, power, and budgets.

To gain freedom from over-regulation, this November, vote for Trump.

Trump will unburden us from the Administrative State that has been entrenched in Washington.

(This is from February 2024 - but we must remember how Kamala Harris, as our border czar, allowed this craziness).

President in name only, Joe Biden, failed to enforce immigration laws already on the books, resulting in unprecedented illegal immigration.

The State of Texas is protecting a small park in Eagle Pass, Texas by installing razor wire. The president – and sadly the supreme court – have ordered the wire removed. Happily, Texas has not complied.

Drug cartel coyotes have already moved illegal crossings to elsewhere on the Rio Grande, so Eagle Pass is a political statement – a defiance of an inept and corrupt federal government – more than it is a hinderance to illegal immigration.
